Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is now offering its customers a bill payment option via the smart app on their Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 watches. The app was initially launched on the Galaxy Gear Manager, and was the first government app in the entire UAE which was made available on the Samsung Gear Manager.
As per Samsung, DEWA was the first government department to introduce an application which works on the Samsung Galaxy Gear 1 and 2 smart watches.
The Samsung Gear provides customers with convenient and accessible services, where they can not only check their DEWA bills using their Samsung Gear, but also use it to make bill payments. This will further enhance customer service offered by DEWA, since customers will have to make very little effort from their end. Applications by DEWA are compatible on Android, Apple, and BlackBerry platforms and eLife for Etisalat. Other than this the application is also supported on windows, windows phone and Samsung home entertainment systems.
Customers of DEWA can also pay bills through apps on the smartphones, the official DEWA website and via mPay as well. Customers can also use the smart watch app for other services as well, such as locating customer service centers and finding contact numbers.
“At DEWA, we provide pioneering services and applications that support our objective to reach our customers anytime, anywhere. Customers can now use Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smart watches to gain instant and easy access to our services and make payments securely using their favorite smart devices to complete their transactions. These efforts will help us to achieve our goal to complement smart transformation in the UAE and achieve the vision of our wise leadership,” said Moza Al Akraf, Acting CIO at DEWA.
