Master Plan Design Competition Launched for “Burj 2020”

Four design firms will be participating in a competition organized for building “Burj 2020 District”. The district will include “Burj 2020 Tower”, the world’s tallest commercial tower.

There are several items of importance that form part of a contemporary construction style including transportation and flow of traffic for the Burj 2020 District.

Executive Chairman, DMCC Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, talked about the concept behind the plan. The plan design will be awarded after a competition for which four of the world’s top specialized firms have been selected. One of the notable features included in the design would be Smart Solutions which would help achieve great efficiency without compromising on urban sustainability. The project would attract more tourists to Dubai, help create an encouraging atmosphere for trade and enterprise, which would bring together businesses from different economic sectors.

DMCC is aiming to fill the gap for efficient and purpose built commercial office space which is in shortage right now. The ground breaking ceremony of “Burj 2020 District” will be held in 2015.
