Electronic chip on fuel tank to help users track fuel type, date, time and price through the system.

The Vehicle Identification Pass (Vip) service was introduced in March 2014 by the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) and Emirates Petroleum Product Company (EPPCO) for the convenience of the customers.

Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail, highlighted the benefits of the system for fleet managers who can keep a record on transactions after a fleet driver fuels the vehicle.

This service is now being used by almost 10,000 vehicles which are using the system for effort less fueling and also keeping a record of the total transactions. The Vip system speeds up the customer service for commercial as well as fleet users, by making fuel filling simple and easy. Drivers simply need to put the nozzle in the fuel tank, and a chip on the fuel tank automatically identifies the registered vehicle.

Registered users of the ViP system can take advantage from the convenient account records and payment deductions which are maintained automatically. The fleet owners can set the limits on refueling according to their own choice, eliminating the chance of reuse of the card etc.

Saeed Khoory, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said: “The implementation of convenient and efficient state-of-the-art technologies is an integral part of our vision. The automation drive implemented across our network will further streamline the fundamental aspects of purchasing fuel, making it a secure experience for our commercial customers and fleet owners. The new electronic services represent a firm step forward towards our commitment to innovation and ensuring superior service standards.”
