RTA to add more self-service kiosks for customer convenience.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has said that their smart kiosks, have had more than seventy thousand transactions from the time of its launch, which is December 2013. With the success of the service and customers appreciating its efficiency, RTA has made plans of further enhancing the kiosk capacity, adding more features and services to it. There are plans of adding ten more kiosks.

This effort is being made by the RTA to be in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to change the government into a smart government, and provide customers with an enhanced service delivery channel, which meets their expectations.

Ahmed Mahboob, Director of RTA’s Customers Service, said: “The smart kiosk is part of our strategy towards enhancing customers satisfaction in terms of saving time & effort in processing their transactions at the RTA..” .

He also talked about the RTA, focusing on making a plan which will increase the efficiency of the kiosks by adding more services to it. In addition ten more machines will be added to multiple locations, such as the Customers Service Centers at Deira, Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha, Al Tawar Registration Center and the Jumeirah Beach.

The kiosks will be placed at the RTA customers’ service centers and other important centers of service as well. The kiosks will be offering customers with service 24/7, improving their experience quality. The smart technology of the kiosk lets customers manage transactions on their own without having to wait for employees. After the customer has processed his or her request, and made transactions, the machine does the printing for them and issues them their form or card etc., depending on their request. The customers can select from three options, such as collecting the deliverable from the express mail by paying Dh 20, customer service centers or a direct receipt from the kiosk.
