UAE Government Aims to Reduce Unemployment Among the Youth in the Region

Fikr12, the 12th annual Arab thought foundation conference under the theme: ‘A road map for job creation: 80 million jobs by 2020 in the Arab world.’

When it comes to employment, expatriates rule the private sectors of UAE, whereas nationals are reluctant to become a part of private companies’ workforce. There is strong need to change the mindsets of younger generation towards private jobs, and Fikr12 conference is an initiative that would be greatly helpful to reduce unemployment among the youth in the region.

As a part of this program, young Emiratis would be technically trained with a skill set to work in the private sector. In addition, the educational system and curriculum will also undergo a significant change to empower youth with necessary soft skills required for team playing and right work ethic.

Fikr12 platform also empowers young Emiratis to give their opinions and suggestions to address altogether the most pressing issues facing the next generations and advise on optimal solutions.
