Chief Executive Officer of RTA’s Licensing Agency, Mr. Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan said that the tests will be carried out for three weeks. University students will test the apps and give their recommendations and feedback.
The purpose of this testing introduced will be beneficial in two ways. The first, allowing students to test these apps would help the authority improve these smart services in light of their recommendations. Secondly, RTA aims to promote a culture where smart services are readily used by everyone. RTA has been working towards introduction of several services on smartphones. These services aim to facilitate users on all the utilities offered by RTA.
The authority is working on the vision laid forth by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai by delivering technology driven intelligent services to people.
Customers, by relying upon these smart services, will be able to make transactions more easily, save time and effort; all of which would eventually lead to higher rates of customer satisfaction.
Earlier this year, RTA had announced that 200 of its services will be made available on smart apps by 2015 as part of the smart government initiative.
RTA has introduced several other initiatives in the past to facilitate customers using the transport system in UAE including parking permits for disabled customers and launch of unlimited day pass for water bus travel to name a few.
