A new smart service has been launched by Department of Economic Development (DED) which will provide customer care around the clock. The new service has been developed by Cisco Remote Expert for Government Services platform. The service has been introduced while keeping Dubai Smart Government initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai in perspective.
The Cisco Remote Expert for Government Services will help project best modern government while taking points of service even further close to citizens. Besides, more services will be made available for longer periods of time. The new service unveiled in GITEX week has a terminal for customers where they can get their businesses registered and conduct licensing transactions. The customers will also be able to get face to face interaction with government officials and after GITEX week is over, the smart Government booth will be shifted to Dubai Mall and provided gradually to other locations as well.
The 24/7 customer service helps government achieve a major milestone for remote locations. The customers will now be able to conduct business for longer hours through the sustainable channel provided by DED. A touch panel allows customer to choose the service they need to get connected to remote expert. The customers will be provided guidance in conducting all transactions by the remote experts.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of DED, Mr. Sami Al Qazi explained that government services were aimed to exceed customer expectations while helping businesses and governments to respond to challenges faced in improving efficiencies. Dubai’s contribution to overall ranking of UAE’s competitiveness internationally and 24/7 will further add to that effort. The 24/7 terminals will also act as central points of knowledge for doing business. The services offered are now available on range of iOS and Android devices.
