Gulf Air, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, got together with the Civil Service Bureau and shared important information on their Information Technology Department. A meeting with the Gulf Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maher Salman Al Musallam also took place during the tour.
Members of Bahrain’s Civil Service Bureau were briefed about Gulf Air’s Information Technology practices and Quality and Information Security Management Systems. The delegation was received by Gulf Air’s Director of Information Technology Dr. Jassim Haji, who said that the airline was delighted to host members from Bahrain’s Civil Service Bureau. He outlined the airline’s accomplishment in recent times including ISO 9001 Certification (Quality Management), ISO 20000 Certification (Service Management).
The airline was also awarded ISO 27001 Certification (Information Security Management System) for the second time in a row. Dr. Haji highlighted the carriers Quality management systems and processes the company undertook to guarantee quality standards and improve customer satisfaction.
Ms. Amal Salem Shaheen, Bahrain Civil Service Bureau Director Management Information Directorate, thanked the airline for hosting the delegation and sharing all the vital information about the best practices and procedures that the airline has currently in place. She said that it is a pleasant occasion that the national carrier is collaborating and sharing invaluable insights and providing a learning opportunity for Civil Service Bureau.
She also added saying “Furthermore, we are impressed with the established framework of high-end processes and the information security management measures.”
Gulf Air has the honor of being the first airline with Information Technology ISO certification which covers components of Quality Management, Service Management and Information Security Management Systems. Additionally, Gulf Air is of the only few airlines with global ISO certification for information security management system. The airline recently introduced Private Cloud Computing in its IT operations, which facilitated increased efficiency, which lead to enhanced customer service.
