Get Dubai Taxi Through An App

A new app has been launched to help taxi users in Dubai find one easily by using their smartphones. Users need to download the app and enter their phone number. The app locates the nearest available taxi around your vicinity to pick you up. This new smartphone app for taxi in Dubai covers 9,000 taxies.

There has been a lot of work done at the back end by RTA (Roads and Transport Authority), automating the entire functionality by connecting it to the booking and dispatch systems. One added feature is tracking of taxi by the passengers as they can know how much they need to wait before the cab shows up. The app has been made available on the Apple Store for iPhones and Google Play Store for Android users.

Adel Shakri, Director Transportation System for RTA Public Transport Agency explained the usability of the app for taxi users, saying, “This app is capable of instantly pinpointing the location of the user, making locating a taxicab very smooth and straightforward.”

The app users are also provided with a convenient way of sharing their feedback at the end of their trip. The users can rate the service, enabling RTA to incorporate customer feedback in improving the taxi system in Dubai.

The app also stores information about previous customer trips and they can select from the history of trips saving time and effort. This feature is particularly helpful for people frequently traveling on same routes. Advance booking option enables customers to book in advance.
