Etisalat has once again reaffirmed its position as a technology leader in the telecommunication industry with latest upgrades and expansions. In order to improve customer experience, Etisalat has introduced major enhancements in 4G LTE network, which will provide better indoor coverage to mobile users.
Currently, the 4G network provides mobile network coverage to 88 percent of the country’s populated areas, which is being constantly expanded with recent installation of base stations for amplified indoor coverage, hence significantly enhancing customer experience.
In an attempt to boost 4G coverage in buildings, malls and airports more than 6000 base stations have been installed. Additionally, 300 base stations in the desert areas have been installed to enhance coverage provided to customers.
Etisalat’s fibre-to-the-home network, which offers speeds up to 1Gbps, has been ranked number one in terms of fibre-optic penetration, since it covers more 85 percent of the country’s populated areas. Furthermore,Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and enhanced Single Radio Call Continuity (eSRVCC) which have already been tested will be implemented after handsets availability. VoLTE is a unique technology that allows both data and voice services on a single device.
Etisalat also plans to assist and offer solution for UAE government’s SMART initiatives with its ever-expanding fibre network and 3G and 4G LTE coverage in the region. The company has also introduced IPTV services, which allows high-definition broadcasting on smart phones, tablets and PCs, hence enchanting viewing experience for the customers.
