Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has seen a growth in customers using electronic channels to make payment for their bills. Customer numbers have been on an increase each year, for which DEWA has launched the ‘Estareeh’ initiative which lets customers pay their bills online without any hassle.
DEWA has partnered with 19 UAE banks to make this possible and provide an easy electronic method through which customers can pay their bills. Numbers show that this year more than 100,000 bills were paid electronically every month, either online or through mobile, as compared to last year, which was about 85,000.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, highlighted the reason behind this initiative, which was to provide their customers with comfort and happiness, through enhancing service delivery. This initiative would make it easier for customers to pay bills and reduce customer effort.
He highlighted that this supports the objectives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who wants to deliver government services to the public without them having to come and ask for it.
He added that DEWA is always looking to find out what customers require and how satisfied they are by the current services offered to them. Adding to it he said “DEWA has focused on the happiness of its stakeholders in its strategy for 2014-18″.
Customers who wish to use the customer service centers will have the option, along with the choice of using the website or smart app, Etisalat payment machines, EPPCO/ENOC petrol stations, and Emirates Post offices to make bill payments.
Along with the above, Al Tayer also commented that banks and organizations which have collaborated with DEWA hold the same commitment towards the people of Dubai, and wish to deliver high standards of service quality. He said that this effort ensures customers’ comfort by offering them a safe and secure payment platform which is reliable.
