Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the GCC region, has become the first bank to launch Visa’s Mobile Location Confirmation service which has been designed by Visa to reduce unwanted purchase declines which occur when customers travel outside of their home area. The new service is available to customers via Emirates NBD Mobile App. The service uses geo-location to confirm the location of the transaction with the location of the customer’s mobile.

This solution is designed to help Emirates NBD to support transactions when the locations match, thus offering the bank’s cardholders enhanced convenience and security. The new service is set to expand authorization rates of cross-border transactions, therefore, improving the customer experience for cardholders and merchants. Customers can choose to deactivate the service at any time they want.

Suvo Sarkar, Senior Executive Vice President & Group Head – Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Emirates NBD, stated that Emirates NBD is continuously working with its partners to enhance customer experience. He said providing seamless payment solutions to customers is a priority and they want to add convenience for customers who are travelling abroad.
