The Federal Traffic Council has suggested joining drivers’ traffic-file details with their Emirates ID cards, which will convert both cards into the same identification number.
Maj Gen Mohammed Al Zafeen, head of the Federal Traffic Council and deputy chief commander for operational affairs at Dubai Police, mentioned that a draft was being prepared for recommendations and suggestions, which will be sent to higher authorities for approval.
By linking the two together, the customer will have less trouble completing transactions in any emirate and have a smoother process. The customer traffic file number is used to verify the driver when he or she pays fines online and is displayed at the back of the driving license.
Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has given instructions to combine all traffic related actions, so there is a standardized process which removes all deficiencies and a smooth customer experience can be provided.
