STC Enables Billing of Google Play Purchases Directly Through Carrier

The leading telecommunication company in KSA, STC has launched a direct carrier billing service with Google, which will allow all STC customers to pay for their Google Play purchases with their monthly mobile bill or prepaid accounts.

Google Play Store is the official hub for all applications on all android devices including smartphones and tablets. The play store application comes pre-installed on all android devices. STC is one of the major players in the telecommunication industry, and the first telecom company in KSA to launch this service. The new and innovative service will ensure transactions on Google Play Store are secure and hassle-free. Many customers find the use of credit card too risky, hence this service offers an alternative billing method which offers convenience and flexibility to customers.

In order to use this service, customers need to select “STC Account” in the payment option stage, after they have selected the application they wish to purchase from the Play Store. Once the option has been selected, STC account will be set as default payment method for future transactions. In addition to purchases on the Play Store, this service will also facilitate in-app purchases on various apps.

All STC pre-paid and post-paid customers will be able to use this new service, which means they no longer require credit cards for these payments.
