The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that it has added new features to the Salik smart app. As a result, now motorists can not only use the smart app to view vehicle registration and receive announcements, but also submit objections to offences and top-up their Salik accounts.

The new update will also enable users to check their annual trip records as well as creating and updating their Salik account. RTA revealed that the complaint follow-up procedure has also been made quite easy in the latest version of the Salik smart app. This will significantly enhance the customer experience.

Salik is one of the most popular apps of RTA that has witnessed over 451,880 downloads till this day. With the addition of the new features, it is anticipated that the app will see more downloads.

Revealing the aim behind introducing the latest features in the Salik smart app, the CEO of RTA’s Traffic & Roads Agency, Engineer Maitha bin Udai said that new services are introduced to save both time and efforts of customers. According to her, customers can now connect with Salik’s call centre by using this app on their mobile device, which will eliminate the need to frequent the customer service centres.

Talking about the latest features of the app, Maitha said the smart app now offers services like search, follow-up and submission of objections to various Salik offences as well as Salik card registration, yearly trip record, top-up of the Salik account and being able to update personal details.

Maitha said that 451,880 downloads proves that they are heading in the right direction and getting closer to meeting the needs of their customers. She added that by innovating the user-friendly app they are contributing towards RTA’s aim of achieving customer satisfaction.
