The inauguration of the pharmacy took place yesterday in Abu Dhabi by Shaikh Saqr bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Planet Pharmacies. 142 outlets of the pharmacy are going to be providing text alerts to patients regarding their medication timings and the expiry dates of their medicines.
Planet pharmacy currently has a total of 142 outlets, 50 in the UAE, and 72 in Saudi Arabia, and 20 in Oman. All outlets send medication related text to their customers and that too for free.
This is a strong initiative from the customer service team of the pharmacy, because it shows their interest in the health of their customers and not just in the running business.
Shaikh Saqr bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Planet Pharmacies based in Ras Al Khaimah, said: “We are honored to open our first Planet pharmacy here in Abu Dhabi with this new service — medication alerts — for the benefit of patients.”
“It is of great importance for a patient to take medicines on time; otherwise it may lead to counter reactions, or even decrease the full benefit of the medication,” he added. The inauguration of the drugstore was held at St. Regis hotel, Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
