Hilton Worldwide in an official announcement revealed that the hotel chain has introduced digital check-in and room selection technology in more than 4,100 hotels across the world, 16 of which are in the United Arab Emirates. This technology allows customers to check-in and choose their exact room from digital floor plans on their computers, tablets and mobile devices. The technology also allows further customization through requesting upgrades with the press of a button.

Geraldine Calpin, Global Head of Digital at Hilton Worldwide said that the digital check-in gives guests the control they deserve, explaining how the system facilities choice and room selection, which is aided by digital floor plans.

Simon Vincent, Executive Vice President and President, Europe, Middle East & Africa for Hilton Worldwide, expressed pride in launching this technology for room booking. He also outlined how Hilton has always embraced a culture of innovation. Hilton was the first to put televisions in hotel rooms and envisions to further enhance customer experience of guests through technological initiatives in the future.

In addition to digital check-in and room selection technology, Hilton also updated its official app (Hilton HHonors) for iOS, with a new and improved interface facilitating smoother functionality.

Hilton Worldwide as part of its digital strategy also announced the launch of bookable websites in 22 different languages which will further facilitate customers across the world. Hilton HHonors app can be downloaded by customers to access digital check-in, room selection and guest loyalty programs.

The new digital strategy is a step in the right direction towards adding to the convenience of customers and improving the experience of guests.
