Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced on Monday, that Dubai’s first ever medical tourism package will be launched by September 2014.
The health package will be a service for overseas patients, looking for healthcare services in Dubai. The package will consist of complete body checkup, treatment cost, visa and accommodation. In order to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction, the package will also include recreational activities for the patient’s family members.
According to senior officials, hospitals and health facilities looking to be part of the plan will need to create detailed medical tourism packages, fill out medical tourism eligibility forms and submit to DHA’s Dubai Medical Tourism department.
“All this information will be re-verified with the DHA health regulation office as part of the secondary verification check. In addition to medical facilities, we will also evaluate hospitals on the basis of the comfort and ease they provide to patients. This includes checking whether they have translators (and) chauffeur services which all will be part of the medical tourism package. At the end of the day, it’s about providing excellence in medical service,” said Dr. Ramadan Ibrahim, Director of Medical Regulation and Director of the Medical Tourism Program.
