Dubai Police has revealed that visitors and residents in Dubai will now be able to pay their traffic fines by using their credit card at police patrol cars. Credit card readers will be installed in police cars for this purpose. In addition, traffic offenders will get the option to split the amount of their fines in instalments without having to pay any interest on fines.
The new facility is being launched by the Smart Services Department of Dubai Police in collaboration with Emirates NBD. This will enable credit card holders to pay their traffic fines directly to the police patrol or via smart applications.
With the launch of the new service, road users will not only be able to get rid of all the paper work, but also have the facility to pay the fines in easy instalments. This will immensely enhance the road users’ experience.
The Director of Smart Services Department in Dubai Police, Colonel Khalid Al Razouki said, that the cars of Emirate’s patrol police will soon have credit card reading machines that will allow traffic offenders to pay for the violations ‘on-the-go’.
He added that the instalment plan for traffic fines is part of the service offered by Dubai Police and it will allow customers to select the most appropriate and convenient method for completing the transaction.
