Customers can now directly take photos and send them to the police without going to the stations.

The Dubai police App has been launched to provide people with the service of reporting bounced cheques to the Police Department.  The App allows customers to send photos of the bounced cheques to the Dubai police App and register their complaints.

The App is designed in line to deliver all service offered by the Dubai police to mobile services. This is being done in coherence with the goals of the Government of Dubai and efforts of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in transforming Dubai into a smart city.

The reporting of the cheque is dependent on two conditions; one it should be issued from inside Dubai and two, its validity date of being cashed should not be expired.  The service allows customers to send in a picture and fill a small form for the bounced cheque. The police will then send them a letter which can be shown to the bank. The rest of the case and procedures will be dealt by the police themselves.

Under serious situations where the case needs to be taken to the prosecution, the customers’ need to go to the police themselves, otherwise the App is sufficient to register complaints.

Colonel Dr Mohammad Nasir Abdul Razzaq Al Razouqi, Deputy Director of the Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) for centers and police stations, highlighted the importance of the service, and mentioned that bounced cheques were some of highest criminal reports filed at CID.

This App will provide the people of Dubai with quality customer service and a better experience using the service, since it will decrease the time and effort it takes to report bounced cheques and reach the complain to officials.
