Dedicated to providing the best banking experience to its customers, BankDhofar has taken another step forward in this direction. The bank has now embraced the CBO-OmanNET EMV programme. The new programme will enable BankDhofar to manage chip card transactions, both as an acquirer and issuer, in regards to ATMs and points of sales (POS).

The bank has made it known that it has already started dispensing the new debit cards with EMV chips to customers. The new card will enable customers to carry out banking transactions with more ease and enhanced security. This will result in an improved customer experience. The new chip based cards will reduce the risk of fraud and scams.

Besides having enhanced security features, BankDhofar’s new chip-based debit card offers several other benefits too. For instance, the card has a global interoperability, while another feature empowers customers with a limit of OMR 5,000 to make online transfers to any local banks from their accounts. All they need to do is simply enter the beneficiary card number in the ATM.

Highlighting the new initiative, BankDhofar’s Chief Retail Banking Officer, Faisal Hamed Al Wahaibi said that in a competitive business environment, customers are constantly on a lookout for more convenient, reliable and secure banking services and products. In order to meet their needs and fulfil their requirements, BankDhofar is relentlessly striving to introduce latest technology and extra security measures.

Shedding more light on the new programme, The Head of Card Centre, Ali Taqi said that the new chip-based debit cards facility is now available at all the branches across the Sultanate. He said that the introduction of the new card has further enhanced the security for customers.
