Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is set to unveil several smart healthcare services at GITEX 2014, including an application called ‘Sehhaty’ for convenience of patients which provides them with important healthcare information.
The new application aims to improve patient experience via mobile devices, which will also allow efficient communication and access to various services to the patients. DHA hopes that the new app will improve operational efficiency and patient outcome in the healthcare industry, in addition to streamlining the process through which patients procure healthcare services.
Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the DHA reiterated that the smart healthcare strategy is in line with the vision of H.E Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The government plans include providing customers with smart services that can be accessed through all technological channels. Furthermore, he mentioned the plans to make all systems and services electronic in the future.
The new application is patient-centric and will efficiently deliver information and services to customers, hence improving the level of customer satisfaction. The app will be made available across all platforms including iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry. Username and password will be provided to all the patients, through which they will be able to login to the app.
Sehhaty has the ability to provide complete health profile of the patients, containing all the relevant detailed information including upcoming and past appointments, results from the laboratory and prescriptions. The application keeps track of patients’ vaccination calendar, as the dates are synchronized and alerts are sent to remind parents about the approaching vaccination date.
Director of Information Technology, Amani Al Jassmi, described the various health packages the app provides, for example elderly, men’s, women’s and adolescent’s health package. The app also informs users about blood donation campaigns, hence encouraging people to register as blood donors and donate blood.
