These machines have been installed in different areas of Dubai such as Umm Al Romool, Al Manar, JBR, Al Qusais, etc. These self-service machines called “Nafethati” have so far processed 60,869 transactions for customers in UAE.

The new machines include services such as renewal of driving license and seasonal parking cards. The Nafethati machines have become an instant success because of the convenience offered to customers, enabling them to save time.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Mahboub, Director of RTA’s Customer Service said, “Nafethati is the first system of its kind across Dubai Government that uses the database of the identity card to verify the identity of the customer. It facilitates the processing of transactions without obliging the client to personally report to front-end staff. The machine is also fitted with a camera and a phone to offer instant help to customers enabling audio-visual communication in case the customer experiences any procedural or technical glitch.”
