The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has further added 10 new smart kiosks offering various services to customers, bringing the total number of kiosks to 16. Two more services were also added to the wide spectrum of services already being offered: Ability to renew driver’s license and parking cards services. The latest move is in line with RTA’s effort to enhance customer experience and ease process for customers conducting various transactions.

RTA’s constant innovation and introduction of new services is being done under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who aims for organizations to work towards the welfare of citizens.

Ahmed Mahboob, Director of RTA Customer Service highlighted the plan to revamp how RTA delivers services via smart kiosks. He also mentioned how the popularity of smart kiosks has surged in recent times as more and more people find the services beneficial and easy to use. Smart kiosks allow users to process their transactions without any unnecessary delay, hence it saves time and effort for the customers.

The installation of 10 new additional kiosks reflects the rising popularity of smart kiosks, which are installed in various location across the Emirates including the RTA Head Office and Customers Service Centers at Umm Al Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Tasjeel Al Barsha, JBR, Al Awir, Al Manara, Al Karama and Shamil Al Muhaisna.

Mahboob further added that besides the two new services which have been added for convenience of customers, the kiosks already offer the following services: renewal of vehicle registration, inquiry & payment of fines, printing vehicle certificate, receipt of a document, and issuing of vehicle registration card.

These services are the first of its kind in the region, since they use ID card info to validate identity and process transactions, hence it does not require to appear in person at the office.

Director of RTA Customer Service revealed RTA’s plan to further broaden the scope of smart kiosks service which includes installation of kiosks outside the premises of Customers Service Centers.
