Emiratis to Enjoy Visa Free Travel After Final Approval of European Union

As a step towards great customer experience, nationals of UAE will soon be free from applying for Schengen visa to visit the European Union (EU) after the EU’s Security and Policy Committee gave final endorsement for the visa waiver, a top UAE official said.

Customers will no longer need to worry about long waiting periods and filling in tedious application forms to apply for an EU visa.

This customer service will allow UAE nationals to conveniently fly to desired destination in the EU by simply filling in The Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) application.

Suleiman Hamed Salem Al Mazrouei, Head of the UAE Mission to European Union (EU) and UAE to Belgium, said “The endorsement represents the last legal procedure before the final formal approval by the European Parliament, whose Committee on Civil Liberties, has already approved the visa waiver,”.

The government is waiting on all formalities to be completed and waiting for the EP to vote on the visa-free resolution within a few weeks.

The government aims to provide its citizens with the comfort of hassle free visa application, and improving the experience of its citizens for travel and tourism in UAE. This decision will strengthen the relations between the UAE and EU, having a positive impact on foreign relations.
