As the holiday season begins, Emirates Airline’s latest booking figures show that this week will be the busiest of 2014, as a record number of passengers are set to travel. More than 80,000 people are expected to travel on 19th of December alone on a grand total of 240 flights. Passengers have been advised to reach the airport on time to avoid any inconvenience.

Mohammed H. Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airport Services said that despite the busy season, the aim is to provide customers with a hassle free travel experience. He said that the airline has hired additional staff to ensure customer service standards are maintained. In his statement he also requested passengers to strictly follow their flight schedules and be on time. The airline has advised customers to arrive at least 2 hours before flight departure. Customers arriving less than 60 minutes to their scheduled flight will not be entertained. Emirates’ airport staff will be there to aid transit passengers and ensure they make their onward connections.

In order to improve the customer experience at airports, passengers are being encouraged to use online check-in facilities, convenient self-service Kiosks or baggage drop facilities. Customers who check-in online are required to check in their luggage no later than 90 minutes before flight departure. Passengers with an e-boarding pass and travelling with carry-on bags only will be able to directly move on to passport control and security clearance.

It is to be noted that all passengers travelling to United States, Canada and the UK must charge their electronic devices before getting to the airport, since they would be asked to switch them on at boarding gates.

Although 19th December is likely to be the busiest day for the airline, but high traffic is expected from 16th December to 21st December because of the holidays. Most popular outbound flights include London, Bangkok, Mumbai, Singapore, Paris and Karachi.
