DubaiCard’ will allow customers to shop from their pre-charged cards from both within the UAE and internationally.

‘DubaiCard’ was revealed at the Prepaid Summit: Middle East at Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi in collaboration with Visa as the event sponsor. The latest initiative is a joint project with Atam and Tuxedo Money Solutions onboard.

DubaiCard can be given and activated from the self-service kiosks, allowing the card owners to make cashless payments, both inside the UAE and internationally at Point-of-sale(POS) along with ATMs and online.Titled as ‘an unrivalled payment option’ the new payment solution was unveiled in front of 150-plus delegates at the summit.

Atam’s CEO, Graham Foster said that the DubaiCard offers a cutting edge solution which is being introduced for the first time in UAE. He explained how DubaiCard deploys Smart Issuance, which is a one of the new technologies introduced in the sector. He further explained how KYC (Know Your Customer) strategy will also be used which has produced positive result in the past for banking and finance sector. The company will be using card holder’s profile from their personal Emirates Identity Card and a passport reader.

Tuxedo’s CEO, Frank Creighton emphasized the importance of seamless non-cash transactions, both nationally and internationally.

National Pay’s Managing Director, Mr. Rashid AlKetbi said that initially the project will be launched with 200 kiosks in Dubai and the service will be expanded across the Emirates in next phases. This new initiative will add to the customer experience as it offers flexibility and convenience.
