Customers can now enjoy convenient and fast service, by registering for the electronic billing offered by DEWA.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has decided upon sending electronic Green Bills to its customers from the end of the second quarter of 2015. DEWA initially launched the Green Bill, in August 2012, by sending out bills through the electronic invoicing system.

DEWA is looking to further enhance the customer experience of its customers, by decreasing paper work, and increasing efficiency. The Green Bills also support DEWA’s efforts of keeping the environment green, which is in line with the Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

DEWA has recently sent out more than 550,000 electronic bills per month to its customers. Since the 1st of September 2014, a total of 218,020 customers chose to receive the Green Bill. DEWA has informed its customers’ who are still registered for paper bills, to update their email addresses, so they don’t have to face any delay or trouble in receiving their digital bills.

Customers can register themselves for the Green Billing via the official DEWA website (www.dewa.gov.ae), smart app or by sending an SMS to 4488, which should consist of the customers’ contract accounts and their email address. Signing up for the Green Bill will further enhance the customer service DEWA can provide its customers, because they will be able to keep a check on their billing and amounts paid online, and also pay their bills from anywhere in the world.

In order to motivate customers to switch to the Green Bill, DEWA is introducing a weekly raffle draw, which gives the registered customers a chance to win a Galaxy Note III. The customer who wins the Grand-prize, will receive a Samsung smart TV.
