New Water and Electricity Tariff for Customers in Abu Dhabi

New tariff structure for water and electricity has been announced for Abu Dhabi, which will be effective from 1st January 2015. This was publicized by the Regulation and Supervision Bureau in association with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC). The move is likely to reduce consumption and wastage of water and electricity.

Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Customer Service at ADDC assured that customer service representatives would help customers better understand the new tariff structure, and also help manage their consumption by offering tips. He said customer satisfaction is of utmost importance to the overall goal of ADDC. He said that an improved level of customer satisfaction has been guaranteed through premium quality of services aided by an efficient customer support team, which is active to serve the clients. Tips to conserve water and electricity use are also available on their website. Al Shamsi also mentioned that ADDC encouraged feedback and communication on a regular basis in order to achieve excellence in customer service.

Commenting on this, Abdulla Al Sheryani, Customer Service Director at AADC noted that the company is prepared to implement the new tariffs for water and electricity, both efficiently and effectively to help customers understand the new structure and how it will impact them. The distribution company has also added a service called ‘Estisharat’ which will help users identify ways to reduce consumption.

The Bureau’s Acting Director General, Saif Al Qubaisi said that in addition to the new tariffs, efforts have been made to raise awareness and encourage conservation of precious resources. He further added that restructuring of tariffs is likely to encourage users to ration their use more efficiently and realize the true value of important resources.
