Etisalat unveiled the new Wasel prepaid promotion for customers in UAE, which includes free access to Facebook, WhatsApp, BBM and Twitter with every recharge starting as low as AED 5. The recharged credit balance, has no clause attached, which protects customers from losing their credit, through usage or expiry etc. The new and Free Social Data promotion is designed to keep up with the evolving needs of customers to stay connected constantly. Etisalat highlights its focus on meeting growing expectations of its customers’ by providing them with a quality customer experience through its dependable 3G and 4G mobile network.
A survey conducted by two Zayed University professors, James Buie and David Bulla, revealed that 72 percent of the participants used social media at least 21 hours a week. The study showed as per the respondents, that socializing with friends was the major use of social media and communicating with family was the second important reason.
Khaled ElKhouly, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat highlighted the importance of social media in connecting Etisalat’s customers. He said that access to social media websites will also encourage customers to engage with each other and follow changing trends. He further added that the new prepaid promotions are uniquely designed to create value for customers. He also said that Wasel customers will be able to use their talk time at their own pace, since credit will not be lost after subscribing to free data packages.
