Emirates NBD and NCR Collaborate to Revamp ATM Experience in UAE

Emirates NBD and NCR Corporation have announced a partnership through which the bank has launched NCR’s Consumer Experience Banking (CxBanking) software – APTRA™ Activate. Emirates NBD is a leading bank in UAE while NCR Corporation provides consumer transaction technologies for various businesses and organizations.

The new software runs on Windows 7 and provides consumers an integrated transactional solution. The new system will provide an enhanced ATM experience, which is also safe and secure.

Ali Sajwani, Group Chief Information Officer, Emirates NBD expressed confidence in the strategic partnership with NCR. He said that the new technology has been deployed for the first time in Middle East and promises increased customer engagement. He further added that APTRA Activate multi-channel platform is capable of handling complex banking transactions.

Customers will be able to access their banking portfolios and remit money to India and Philippines or through Western Union. Moreover, customers will also be able to subscribe to IPO, print financial statement and exchange foreign currency. The implementation of the new system will offer premium customer experience.

Suvo Sarkar, General Manager, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Emirates NBD commenting on the latest initiative said that the new ATM Experience Platform will deliver beyond customer expectations and completely revamp the ATMs experience. He further added that the solution is aligned with omni-channel approach in the banking industry. He announced that in an attempt to please the customers, the bank is now offering free AED local bank transfers and ‘DirectRemit’, which allows remittances to India within one minute.

George Flouros, Vice President for NCR Financial Services said that consumers have high expectations from the financial institutions, which is why constant innovation and improvement is necessary. He said that the software platforms will not only enable the bank to provide premium customer experience, but will cut costs through integration of cross-channel resources.
